I was recommended this spot for a quick lunch. I decided to order the Monday lunch special which came with a soup of the day. I had the sopa de albondigas (meatball soup). It was delicious and very filling alone! This special also came with pollo a la plancha, white rice and veggies. This was absolutely delicious and extremely filling all together for the price! The restaurant is very clean with many seating options considering the size of the place. The service was quick and allowed much privacy while constantly assuring if we were okay. I can't wait to try more of their options in the future.
The food was great. Basic fare that we were looking for and it was worth the walk. The service was very friendly and quick. I really enjoyed the location which was colorful and welcoming. The menu layout on the website and tables were very helpful for me. The signature rotisserie chicken was just what we've were craving for. And if we spend more time in Hackensack I hope we'll try to go back. I hope so. Pollos was a high point on a good day.
Great delicious food -good atmosphere, great service, super clean, very customer friendly. Love the music selection.
The service at pollos Mario is always great. We had pollo a la brasa with tostones, plátano maduros, rice, and salad. Then we had a order of chicharrones that was super crunchy. We had two pan de Bono's and two cappuccino. The food was great and everything tasted fresh.
Had been hearing about this place for a long time from friends who live in the area and decided to give it a shot and picked up some food to go. The chicken is so moist and has an interesting flavor, almost like Indian spices without being Indian. The rice was phenomenal, yellow with peas and carrots. The chicharron came very well done which is exactly how I like mine. Extra crispy. If you prefer more fat or a chewy texture, you may not enjoy this as much as it is not a melt in your mouth feel. It came with a few tiny tubs of their green, super spicy sauce, which was fantastic. Loved it on the chicken and also added to the rice. The only feedback I have is I wish they would have thrown in a piece or two of lime as I love that acid to cut through the richness of fat between the Chicharron and the chicken. Felt the price was fair for what you were getting.
